were first minted in 1989 and are now one of the highest minted and most well-known bullion coins from Europe. The first year for the Platinum Philharmonic is 2016 and it will carry the same design as the Silver and Gold counterparts.

Coin Designs
The design for the coin was created by Thomas Pesendorfer.

Obverse: Features a pipe organ from within the Musikverein, a concert hall in Vienna. The words REPUBLIK OESTERREICH (Republic of Austria) and 1 UNZE PLATIN 999.5 (1 ounce pure platinum) are also minted on the obverse.

Reverse: Features an array of musical instruments such as the harp, violin, cello, flute, bassoon, and French horn. The words WIENER PHILHARMONIKER (Vienna Philharmonic) are also inscribed.
