The 2024 Gold Lunar 'Year of the Dragon' is the fifth of twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar. The coin features a dragon, waves and a stylized fog. The Chinese character for "Dragon" and the inscription "DRAGON 2024" also appear in the design with the Perth Mint "P125" mintmark to signify The Perth Mint's 125th anniversay. The obverse bears the Jody Clark Memorial effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign and inscriptions that include the face value of the coin, weight, fineness and "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA."
