Produced by the Perth Mint and struck in .999 silver, Australian Lunar bullion coins are popular with collectors and investors alike.

The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and inscriptions that include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 2 DOLLARS, 2009 and 2 OZ 999 SILVER.
The reverse features an ox with her calf with hills in the background with inscriptions YEAR OF THE OX and the Chinese character for "Ox" with the Perth Mint's traditional "P" mintmark.
