This coin was produced by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Modern Olympic Games.

The obverse (heads side) design of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Cauldron Gold $5 features the Olympic Cauldron.
The reverse (tails) design features the Atlanta Games logo .
