Eisenhower Silver Dollars were minted from 1971 to 1978. The Eisenhower Bicentennial Reverse design were minted from 1975 to 1976 and honors both President Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Bicentennial of the United States. This design is the work of Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro, whose initials are on the truncation and below the eagle. The reverse features the Liberty Bell superimposed on the moon. The Bicentennial reverse was designed by Dennis R. Williams. Collectors' coins were struck in 40% silver composition, and the circulation issue in copper-nickel.
