Austrian Philharmonic Bullion Coins were first minted in 1989 and are now one of the highest minted and most well-known bullion coins from Europe. Coins dated prior to 2002 are denominated as 500 Schilling with coins dated 2002 to present will be 25 Euro.

Coin Designs
The design for the coin was created by Thomas Pesendorfer.

Obverse: Features a pipe organ from within the Musikverein, a concert hall in Vienna. The words REPUBLIK OESTERREICH (Republic of Austria) and 1/4 UNZE GOLD 999.9 (1/4 ounce pure gold) are also minted on the obverse.

Reverse: Features an array of musical instruments such as the harp, violin, cello, flute, bassoon, and French horn. The words WIENER PHILHARMONIKER (Vienna Philharmonic) are also inscribed.
