The United States Mint certifies that this coin is a genuine 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Colorized Silver Dollar, minted and issued in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President as Public Law 116-65. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor's mission is to commemorate the service of those who were killed or wounded in action through representing Purple Heart recipients from the Civil War to present day. The National Purple Heart Honor Mission is dedicated to paying tribute to our nation's combat wounded through special outreach and educational programming.

Coin Designs
The obverse (heads side) design features the Purple Heart medal with purple shading around the bust of George Washington along with fice starts representing the branches of the military. Inscriptions are: "COMBAT WOUNDED & KILLED IN ACTION", "LIBERTY", "1932", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2022".
The reverse (tails) design shows a nurse in World War I helmet as she bandages a wounded service member on a stretcher. More than 23,000 women nurses served in the Army and Navy during the war. Inscriptions are "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "ONE DOLLAR" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
