The United States Mint certifies that this coin is a genuine 2020 US Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Dollar, minted and issued in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President as Public Law 115-343. This coin was minted by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint, in recognition and celebration of the establishment of the 60th Anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. All of the coins in this three-coin program (gold $5 coin, silver dollar, and clad half dollar) share common designs and are curved.

Coin Designs
The obverse (heads side) design of the 2020 US Basketball Silver Dollar features three different figures all reaching for the ball in unison, suggesting how the sport has brought together millions of diverse people around the world through a simple, universal, and unifying athletic experience. Their arms are intentionally elongated, just slightly, to emphasize the full exertion of physical and mental effort required to excel in the game. The rim and net are presented as subtle background elements to complement the primary figures. Inscriptions are: "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2020".
The reverse (tails) design depicts a basketball about to pass through a net. Inscriptions are "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "ONE DOLLAR" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
