The United States Mint certifies that this coin is a genuine 2000 Leif Ericson Millenium Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar, struck in accordance with legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President on December 6, 1999, as Public Law 106-126. This coin was produced by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint in conjunction with the simultaneous minting and issuance of commemorative coins on behalf of the Republic of Iceland in commemoration of the millenium of the discovery of the New World by Leif Ericson.

Coin Designs
The obverse (heads side) design of the 2000 Leif Ericson features a portrait rendered in the style of the coin issued by Iceland.
The reverse (tails) design features a Viking ship coming forward to the New World with Leif Ericson at the helm.
