This coin was produced by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Congress of the United States.

The obverse (heads side) design of the 1989 Congressional Gold $5 features the Capitol Dome.
The reverse (tails) design features the eagle from the Old Senate Chamber.
