Description

1886 US Morgan Silver Dollar $1

BU

Morgan Silver Dollars
were minted from 1878 to 1904 and again for one more year in 1921 and is named after its designer, George T. Morgan. There are many varieties and overdates, which makes it one of the most famous and highly collected U.S. coins of all time.

A Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin is a coin that has never been circulated, does not show any wear, and retains most (if not all) of its original mint luster.
However, a BU coin is not a 'flawless' coin. NGC considers Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) to be any coins that would grade from 60-70 on the Sheldon Grading Scale. Morgan Silver Dollars were stored and transported in Bags after they were minted. As a result, the coins have varying degrees of contact marking, commonly known as “Bag Marks”, which can be seen in our Reference Images.
