American Eagle Proof Platinum Coins
As America’s longest running Platinum coin, Authorized by Congress in 1996 and first issued in 1997, they are the first investment-grade platinum coins from the United States Government. While the fractional-weight coins in this series ended in 2009 for both bullion and proof options, the 1 oz platinum coins were suspended in the bullion series at the same time before returning in 2014. This series is known for its rotating obverse designs that reflect core American ideals, and the 2025 release concludes the First Amendment series, honoring the freedom of petition.

All American Eagles are legal tender coins, with their face value imprinted in U.S. dollars. Although their face value is largely symbolic, it provides proof of their authenticity as official U.S. coinage. The one-ounce platinum coin displays the highest face value ($100) ever to appear on a U.S. coin.
