The 2027 Platinum Lunar ‘Year of the Goat’ honors the eighth of twelve animals in the ancient Chinese lunar calendar. Struck in .9995 fine platinum, the reverse (back) of the coin shows a shaggy, long-bearded goat with sweeping curved horns, standing on a rocky hillside beside a windswept tree. The design also includes the Chinese character for “Goat”, the inscription “GOAT 2027”, designer Wade Robinson’s “WR” initials and The Perth Mint’s signature “P” mintmark. The obverse (front) shows the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, with inscriptions that include the face value, weight, fineness, “CHARLES III” and “AUSTRALIA”.

Those born under the sign of the Chinese Lunar Goat in 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979 and every 12th preceding year are said to be gentle, creative, and compassionate. Known for their calm nature and resilience, they are often admired for their artistic talents and thoughtful approach to life.

Minatge limit for the 1oz Platinum is 5,000 coins and no fractional coins being minted. No mintage limit applies to the Silver 1 kilo, 5oz, 2oz, and 1/2oz coins and Gold 10oz, 2oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz, and 1/20oz coins. For the 1oz Silver release, the Perth Mint will produce up to 300,000 coins, 30,000 coin for 1oz gold and 5,000 for 1oz platinum. Production for the 1oz sizes will cease when the mintage is fully sold or at the end of the series, whichever occurs first. All coins are struck from .9999 fine silver/gold and .9995 fine platinum in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
