This coin was produced by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint to commemorate the first convening of the Congress in the Capitol building.

Coin Designs
The obverse (heads side) design of the 2001 Capitol Visitor Gold $5 features a Corinthian column.
The reverse (tails) design features the North Wing of the Capitol.
