Alaska Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Bingle tokens were issued to those who participated in the United States "New Deal" program which relocated over 200 farm families from the dust bowl stricken Midwest to the Matanuska valley in Alaska. These families were each issued 40 acres of land along with credit to be used at the Alaska Rural Rehabilitation Corporation (ARRC) commissary. The "bingles" were created as a form of currency to be used within the ARRC.
